The European Union is working to double the amount of aerial firefighting equipment provided to its member countries by 2029.
“We have a goal of doubling this fleet by 2029,” adding two additional firefighting aircraft in France, two in Italy, two in Greece, two in Spain and two in Portugal, the European Commissioner for the Internal Market said on Tuesday.
